Weird sightings

Well, just pointing out something that I have been seeing these few days... When I cycle around my neighbourhood, I can't help but notice that almost all the rubbish bins have been damaged, intentionally. They are displaced from their original positions, and most of them were overturned, or had their lids and body seperated. Obviously, someone or some group have been behind all these acts.

And being a thinker, I started thinking about this issue. It's like, who will be the one fixing this thing? (The rubbish bins being overturned, damaged and so on) Definitely it's not any ordinary people walking past them. This is because there is no reason for them to do so. (Even though I thought of helping to push back the first rubbish bin I saw, this thought quickly disappeared when I saw the subsequent ones)

So from this thought, I deduced that maybe the cleaners/road-sweepers will be the one who do this. However, based on what I saw these few days, either they didn't do this daily, or the one who damaged the rubbish bins do it every day. And thinking deeper into this, I realised that... it's very easy for people to lower other people's standard of living, or living condition. Destroying a rubbish bin is one example, and imagine in an enclosed room... If someone threw in a pile of shit into the room, everyone in the room will be negatively affected, but seldom will there be anyone who will volunteer to clear the shit out for everyone else. At least that is what I think la. So since very few people will be so "noble" to do this favor for everyone else, their overall living condition will dropped. Therefore, we can see that it's damn easy to do something and drop a group's condition.

Watching New Moon and singing KTV with VESCEL

I remember I watched the first twilight movie together with members from VESCEl, and naturally, when the sequel New Moon came out, we watched together. This time, it's me, Enci, Van and Lujia.

The movie, as expected, is about romance and fighting, and throughout the movie, I can't help but to feel sad and sorry for Jacob. *Spoiler alert* It's like... he was never "there". He was all along a substitute for Edward... when Edward left, he is like a replacement; when Edward returns, he's shoved aside. Super sad... =(

Anyway, overall the movie is nice, not boring. After the movie, we took bus 7 back to Bedok, and then ate at KFC! Haha, been a LONG LONG time since I last ate there, which is why I tried my best to convince all of them eat dinner there. -_-" And then we went to Cash Studio KTV, and sang lots of songs, all the way till 3am.

Overall, it's an enjoyable day, well-spent together with good old friends =)

Woke up early in the morning to go to school for Bridge, thanks to a last minute notification last night. After that, I took a train back to Bedok, because I am supposed to meet up with Jayne, Jieying and Louisa. There's this particular incident that happened on the train that I wanted to blog about:

I was sitting on the seat, and I saw this old woman enter the train. Being a considerate person, I stand up, nodded at the old woman, and offer her my seat. BUT, wtf, another auntie like got this skill "blink" (which is some sort of teleportation), the moment I stand up, chiong towards my seat and sat down. Then I look at the old woman, she just smiled at me, though I can feel the helpless-ness from her smile, and also the helpless-ness feeling I am giving out. I mean... what can I do? This kind of situation I can't do a single thing (honestly, I will not give up my seat to that auntie because I think I need the seat more than her -.-).

Anyway, after I reached Bedok station, I cycled all the way to Pasir Ris MRT to meet up with the rest of them, but it started raining the moment I passed Tampines. So in the end I went to the toilet and dry out myself. After that we went to the food court to have our dinner, and then to Mac to make Christmas cards.

We went cycling at Pasir Ris Park, and I must say I really really enjoyed ourselves. The night breeze, the company and the scenery (lol, I long time never cycle in Pasir Ris Park). Haha, hopefully, before school reopens, there will be another chance for us to cycle again~

What happened for the past few days...

Wow, I really didn't get to have enough sleep ever since Thursday, so I didn't really have time to blog. Erm, ok.. let me start from Thursday... :

Earlier on, I signed up for this "Team building challenge" with a few of my friends, and it's from Thursday till Saturday night. Got to meet new friends, and played a lot of games. From those games, we learnt a lot a lot from one another, and we got to know each other better as well. Unfortunately, due to some reasons, I'm unable to blog about what exactly happened during the camp, in terms of the activities and so on, so this is all I got to say about it -_- I will write it down somewhere in hardcopy for my own memories sake, so... ya...

After coming back from the camp on Saturday night, I slept and woke up early the next morning, to go for my company's promotion seminar at Victoria Concert Hall. It's my first time going for this quarterly event, and I must say that I was impressed, amazed and inspired by it. Really. Seeing people share about their stories, their feelings and their process.

After that, my team and I went to eat dinner at laobasha, and then sang KTV at cineleisure, all the way till 6am. Imbal. But really, it was fun to sing with this group of people, because the mood is damn high, and singing in tune wasn't really the top pirority... coz people just sing for fun... especially after drinking a bit of alcohol, they basically can't sing in tune. Lol. Speaking of alcohol, it's actually the first time I saw this friend of mine drunk. LOL. I never thought that he will be drunk before I get drunk, but in the end I was sober and he was drunk, and it's quite funny.

Anyway, the past few days is really unforgettable, and I am really glad to be part of it.

Just came back from a "camp"

One of the BEST camp I have attended so far. Serious. I believe the friendship made will stay on for a long long time. And I learnt a lot a lot. Will blog again, after I sleep and replenish my energy...

Yes! Haha, thanks to Junus and Zhenbin, I managed to get a one day temp job today, and we worked together with Zhenbin's brother, Yandeng and Tan Yin.

It's really nice working together with friends, especially when you get to chat with each other, catching up and knowing each other better. Haha, it's late at night now.. maybe I will blog again tomorrow or something.

But the key thing is: I really enjoyed working with them today.

Went to Teoheng yesterday to sing with my orientation friends: Kim, Mbi, Grace and David.

Sang from 1pm - 7pm. Super fun, and I am super impressed by their voices. Seriously. It's fun to sing together with them, and I really hope to sing together again before sch reopens =)

Woohoo, I seriously love the present I got this year. Installing L4D2, using my new blue earphones, playing it using the razer mouse simply rocks.

There are 5 different campaigns, each related to one another... I think(coz I only finished 4 so far). Basically, the intro movie is really cool. Unlike L4D, the intro movie has this punk image, as in after watching it you will really want to kick some zombies' @ss. New weapons available, and also new infected. I just finished the fourth map together with Alvin, and I believe both of us were deeply impressed by the graphics.

The fourth map, named "Hard Rain" impressed me because the whole map was actually a... back and forth format. As in... you go forward to get something, and your ending point is your starting point. What impressed me was that the return trip wasn't boring at all. When you started, it started raining, and after you passed the half-way point and start to return, it turned into a thunderstorm, and most of the area was flooded. So even though you are backtracing, you will still have a "new" feeling.

So... it's damn cool. Haha, and I think I shall stop blogging here... Time to kill some zombies~ ;)

The blog post about my 21st birthday

Once again, a big thank you to everyone who made my 21st birthday such an enjoyable day for me.
I woke up early in the morning, 8am (at least to me that's considered as early), and started preparing for the party after breakfast, by decorating the house with balloons and so on. And because some balloons burst, I blew more myself ( and had a few burst in my face -_- ) later in the day.

Anyway, after taking the first photo with my very good friend overseas, I went downstairs to help fetch this big cake from the shop to my house. Just when I am about to rest(so that I will have enough energy later), one of the balloon burst again -_-, so I touched up a bit on the decoration again. And this is when my first guest arrived! One hour before the start of party.

Ta-da, the start of my super busy day. Basically the whole day can be described by the following cycle:

Arrival of new guest --> Bring them into the house --> Bring them to get their food --> Arrival of new guest

Serious. As I used the lift area for food and I live in the corner apartment, by the time I walked to and forth along the corridor, I need to repeat the cycle again. So, I hardly had much time to spend with all my guests. I really hope that everyone enjoyed themselves during the party.

Anyway, after the party, Gracelyn, Dahong, Enci, Evelyn, Vanessa decided to go sing karaoke with me, so we drove to Bedok Cash studio and sang till 3am. After sending my good friends home, I returned home, and by the time I lie on my bed, it's 4am already.

The first thing in the morning after breakfast was to take photo with the presents that my friends gave! Haha, and after opening all of them, I am super duper happy! Coz I really like all the presents I received. Really.

P.S. I have a bit of problem here... coz there are 2 presents which I can't remember who gave it to me... -_-" Hopefully I will have a way to find out the answer somehow.

Happy birthday to myself! =) - Birthday list entry

Finally, after seeing so many of my friends turning 21 this year, it is MY TURN to be 21 years old! Haha, and I am very happy to spend the first few minutes of today with my very very good friends whom I know for 8 years: Silas, Enci and Vanessa. OMG, you can't believe how touch and grateful I was to see them just now, when they appeared at my house @ 10plus. Despite the fact that they still have exams next week, they still came and arranged a surprise for me! (Seriously, I didn't expect to have any VESCEL surprise, because of the exam period clashing with my birthday). Therefore, I must really thank them for spending the effort.

They bought a chocolate cake for me, and sang the birthday song at my doorstep. After that, we just spend the last few moments of my 20-years-old-hood chatting and using my laptop. it's cute to see them wishing me "Happy birthday" the moment it is 12 o'clock. Really, it's touching and heart-warming to know that you have such good friends in your life, and I really appreciate them. =)

Haha, I just thought of something, and decided to blog it out here...

Today is Nov 25th, the birthday of my sister and another friend, Alvin Chen. And I wished him at midnight, and suddenly got reminded of how we got to know each other, and I smiled to myself. (Lol, sounds gay, but obviously it's not meant that way -_-)

We first knew each other in 1 guards, and we knew each other because we play nintendo DS games, instead of the more popular PSP. Naturally, those people who play nds will come together and play games together. We will talk a bit with one another whenever we play together, and that's how we get to know each other better.

Lol, just thinking about the times when I still play NDS regularly made me smile to myself, and I am glad to know new friends through it =)

There are a lot of things in my mind... even though I can't exactly say or express them out clearly. Birthday party, friends, romance, family, money, completing games ( -.- ) and a lot more.. Lol. Ya.. pretty much almost everything in my life is worth thinking about. For one, I think I need to talk to friends, maybe some HTHT or something... coz I think the last time I did so was... eons ago or what. Oh well~

I am actually looking forward to my birthday party, because it is an opportunity to see my friends. Really. There are different kind of friends, and also different kind of good friends. Some needs reason/excuse to meet up, while some don't require any reasons at all. Lol, a random thought, also don't exactly know why I mention it here...

Feel like singing, even though I personally have the impression that my singing is getting worse.. because the way I sing is getting more and more wrong... Also don't know how to explain.. Oh well... I also don't know what I blog this entry out... maybe just wanna express a bit of opinion online or something. 6 days to my birthday~

And I have 2 papers before that... -_-" There's always a good thing about everything.. haha, like now, I finished Philosophy exam! (Even though it doesn't really require me to mug for it... just think and practice can liao) The next paper will be on Tuesday, followed by Thursday. Oh well.. Don't really know why... everytime I cannot sleep, I will think about my party, like how I need to make sure all 100 +- people can fit inside my house. And I realised I haven't prepare any camera(s), so friends who read this blog entry, and are coming for my birthday, please do bring your cameras! (My own camera is a cui one, there since.. 7 years ago or sth)

Seriously, if not for the fact that my brother managed to invite 100+ people on his birthday, I really doubt how I can squeeze people in... Lol, but then again, not THAT many people might turn up for my party anyway, because it is the exam period.

I thought about a few other things too.. like how I should decorate my house, or whether I should have a book to make people write short messages/wishes to me or something... sort of like a big birthday card. Oh well.. maybe after 24th Nov then I plan ba... Meanwhile, I think I shall concentrate on my studies first...

Actually, I also don't know what to blog about, it's just that I am in the mood of blogging.. so I think I will surely be able to think of something to say as I type...

Studying for exam is... boring. I don't know why... somehow, the mood and mentality when I study for uni exam is quite different from the past, as compared to O levels or A levels. Maybe it's because it has been almost 3 years since I last studied for a major exam... or maybe it's because we all know that this is just... 1/6 of all the exams that will determine your final grade. I dunno. Or maybe it's because we finally realised that fact that getting good results doesn't actually guarantee you anything; and we are already too old to be involved in the "Yay, I got better results than you" or "Hi, everyone look at my son! He got very good grades during his exam!" thingy. So... I don't know. Just maybe.

Anyway, I am going to have a hair cut in an hour's time, and probably going to highlight my hair or sth... depending on my mood. -_- Hopefully my hair won't look ugly on my birthday itself..

Anyway, maybe some updates for my birthday party... there are rumours that I will be expecting around a hundred people for my birthday -_-" But half the people will be people that I don't exactly know... Like my sister's friend and family friend or something. But I believe it's just a rumour la... highly doubt so many people will turn up. But still, I do hope that my friends will turn up, coz it's MY birthday~ Lol... and it has been a LONG LONG time since many people turn up at my house... I think the last time was during my sister's 21st birthday... 13 years ago... -_- If I am not wrong, around 80+ people turned up. As for my brother's 21st, around 106-107 people turned up. So... don't worry, I am pretty positive that even 100 people turn up, there will be space for people.

Oh, and I have been thinking about how to place people in the house on that day (thanks to a dream a few nights ago... ) In the event that some people want to stay in the house instead of the corridor/staircase area, I am prepared to have 2 rooms available for people to sit inside and chit-chat/ play cards. But then again, I shall not think too much, in case people start to "last minute got stuff" and din turn up... =( I don't know... in life we should all be positive, but somehow I just don't adopt that mentality whenever I need to expect something.

Lol, one other thing that I am concerned about... is my "birthday list", which I have been writing out since... secondary school times. (And included ever since the beginning of this blog) I don't know... maybe this year there will still be one, but I don't know how to maintain an accurate list. Lol. We shall see how ba...

P.S. Oh crap, it's raining now.. how do I cycle to the place to cut my hair? .... argh..

Lol, it seems to be a bit... 不要脸 to ask for specific birthday presents, and so far I only saw one other person posting her birthday present wishlist on her blog. So... I doubt I will do so, even though that will definitely solve a lot of troubles. -_-

I don't exactly know who is going to give me presents, or who is definitely coming to my house for my birthday party. Anyway, for those who read my blog but don't frequent facebook, my birthday party will be at my house, 28th Nov, starting at 7pm. According to my family, the cake- cutting session will be around 8pm to 830pm, so as to let those people who need to study for exams to leave earlier and so on. Of course, having such early timing can be good, hopefully more people will come for just 1hour30mins. I mean.. I think assuming everyone "mob" me at 7pm, the next 1 hour and 30mins wouldn't really affect much studying time anyway. At least I would think so. Of course, for dear friends who want to say longer, I believe my family members are ok with that.

Ok... I think instead of coming out with a wishlist, why not come out with an opposite list, so that I know what I don't want and so on. So here goes:

1) Empty photo frame(s) - Ever since the invention of the digitial camera, I RARELY have any "physical" photos that I can put up in a photo frame, so... An empty photo frame is something that I don't wish to receive, since it will be wasted and be collecting dust in one corner of the house.

2) Book(s) - Honestly speaking, I seldom read books, and I still have around 5-6 books in my shelf that I SHOULD HAVE read but haven't. Unless the book you are getting me is "50 interesting ideas in philosophy" that kind, which the content is INTERESTING to me, and there aren't many words in it, I will not be disciplined to read them. Anyway, I read around 60% of that book already.

3) Watch - My 20th birthday present is a very nice looking watch from my family, and I like it a lot. So, I don't plan to change it this year, and because I only need one watch, there's no point in getting another watch.

4) Water bottle(s) - Eh.. because I still have one birthday present which is a water bottle that I haven't use yet. So... any new ones will be on the queueing list, which is another no-no.

Erm.. so far I think that is all I can think of. Erm, if I can think of more, I will blog it out again.

Ok, firstly, some updates...

Muahahahaha! Finally, I am done with Physics GEK 1510. No more project, no more test. One module completed. Yay! And so, I am left with 4 more modules to clear, with the earliest one on next Saturday (6 days left).

Why did I say that "tomorrow" is a scary word? Haha, because of the word "procrastination". I just came back from my usual Friday supper, and I am reminded of the danger of that word. Imagine, you are revising for your final paper already, and there are 4 more days left. Some of you might think, "Ok.. if I can't finish today, there is still tomorrow. " Yup. And this is extermely dangerous.

Therefore, I hope that all my friends will not fall into the trap of "tomorrow", and all the best for your papers! Oh, and do come for my birthday party! =) Check Facebook for more details.

A story I heard, and I decided to share...

I heard this story from someone whom I know of his existance.. and here is the story:

This guy, around 20 this year, liked this girl since primary school. However, he didn't have the courage to confess, and only remained as friends with the girl. She was like his motivation in studies and working; if he can succeed in these, he will be able to have the courage, ability and confidence to tell her his feelings. But just a few days ago, the girl approached the guy, and invite him to her wedding. Shocked.

And so, this guy super sad, and even got a terrible nightmare because of this news. For one, he didn't think that she will marry so early. So basically, it's GG for the guy. And the guy shared this story with us, and wanted us to learn something from it. Don't have the impression that "There's always tomorrow". If you really want something, be it woo-ing a girl, starting a business, making a decision, buying something and whatever; if you want it now, do it. Don't wait too long, until it's too late.

I don't really know what is going on for physics now.. -_- first time I think, in my whole life that I am going for an exam with the feeling that "I need all the luck I can get, if not sure die". The positive side is that tomorrow's paper will be MCQ, so... luck DO play a BIG PART in it. Oh my... I really hope that I will survive tomorrow...

An update on my life~

This month is going to be a crucial month to me, because this month, I have two main targets in my mind: To study and do well for my final exams, and to prove to myself that something MORE can be done within this period.

Since dunno when, there had always been a inner-struggle within myself, one side of me fighting with another side. And a lot of thoughts just came across my mind. This month is going to be a special month for myself, partly because I am turning 21st this month too! (finally my turn)

So now, I am basically juggling between a few things, which include birthday party(yes there will be a party on the actual day, check out FB for more details), exams and other stuff; and I hope to achieve what I want to achieve this month. In order to do that, I believe I will have to give up on something...

Looks like it is finally time for me to give up on something.. just for this month... Let's hope I will be disciplined enough to do so...

I was talking to a friend just now, and decided to blog about this topic that crossed my mind recently... Back to the old question, what is a friend? (I think I might have blogged about this question back in JC days)

I am quite unsure now.. because maybe due to army and so on... somehow, it's easier to strike a conversation with people (it is really super easy to talk cock), even though it is harder to talk about... deeper stuff. Conversation topics tend to be quite shallow most of the times. And after asking a few people, it seems that it is highly possible to have "temporary friends" (people who hang out with you during the semester because you share the same modules or breaktimes, and after that just disappear). I dunno.. just voicing out my thoughts....

People also seems to become more complicated as they grow older, at least at our stage. =S Sigh~

On a lighter note, I am happy today! Haha, not because I played bridge, but a hint is that it has something to do with school =)

Lol, I appreciated the times when I "feel simple-minded", because I get happy easier, tiny little things/acts/events that goes in my favor will make me happy for the whole day le. Lol.

Cycling in the rain~

I had an entry about "walking in the rain" when I was working earlier this year. And now this is the entry about cycling in the rain, which was what I did just now, when I was on my way home. It felt good and could have been better, if not for the fact that I was wearing sport shoes and carrying my handphone. The difference between cycling and walking is that I can travel A LOT faster, and the feeling is... good (in my sense). Icy cold raindrops pouring at you, and you are free to go anywhere. I think the next time there is heavy rain, I shall go cycle alone again. An extremely good way to DESTRESS, and THINK.

I am gonna declare "Zombie" status on myself le, ever since Tuesday night, I haven't been getting enough sleep AT ALL. Less than 6 hours per night. WAH~ I need to sleep well tonight.

Arts Open 2009 just finished, and... my team didn't won a single match. -.- So we got kicked out after 3 games. Oh well, winning wasn't exactly the main point(although it sucks to lose every match -.-) , it was great to see members from my OG getting together and chit-chat and play together just now. Haha, got slightly reminded of Arts Camp days. Oh well.. I think the next time I am gonna suggest/organise any OG stuff will be after exams.

Anyway, after leaving the school, we decided to go Vivocity for lunch, and we stayed there all the way till an hour ago. And now that I am home, I thought I could finally sleep on my bed. BUT... I suddenly remember that it's my pri sch friend's 21st party!!! So.. I am leaving home now. Haha.. blog again soon, I promise (because I thought of a lot of stuff that I would want to remember).

Haha, OMG, it is 3am now, and I am waking up at 9am later to go to sch..

But I just came home from supper, and I felt the positive energy once again in my body.. so decided to blog it out before it "disappear" again. Lol.

An amazing opportunity just now allowed many of us(me and my friends) to hear words of wisdom from this successful celebrity. One important lesson I learnt, which I think can be shared with my fellow readers will be this: Simplicity is the way to go. Do not complicate things.

Really. Even though it is my interest to think of complicated stuff, and it is super IRONIC that I actually like that line and decided to share it. -.-

Oh man, I have not been blogging as regularly as I wanted... so I decided to just drop a post here... Complaining about school... Lol.

This semester I took 5 modules, out of the 5, 3 of them are subjects which I actually considered majoring in. However, after mid-terms and the returning of assignments, I realised that I scored better for the other 2 modules. -.- Oh man, why like that sia? This is damn irritating...

Oh, and philosophy is really fun. But writing philosophy essay is TOTALLY NOT FUN at all. I have an essay due this Thursday, and I think I am going to die doing it. Serious. Unless miracle happens and I somehow know how to write a good essay overnight. Sigh~

Speaking of this.. I just got reminded of something... that somehow, I get the impression that people overestimate me at times. Like for one, philosophy. Among average people, I appear to be more interested in philosophy, but if you ask me whether I think I am good at it, I think I am totally a newbie. Same goes for bridge, Chinese, basketball and a couple more. Sigh~

Friday late night entry

Who knows? Maybe from now on, every Friday night I will be blogging.

It's quite amazing... One week has 7 days, and out of these 7 days, 6 days of it was filled with negativity(regarding something), and only today, Friday, was a positive one(regarding something). Cool. Somehow, the positive part of Friday is like a fire, lighting up all the darkness that's caused by the other 6 days.

Have faith in what you are doing. And I believe as the person who said " A perfect lie makes a perfect world", there really isn't much worries... right? Lol.

We are like someone who is introducing what we think is good to people; if we are rejected, just remember that the person is not saying "No" to you, they are saying "No" to chance. =)
